Shusaku HOUJO
Shusaku Houjo is a character in the anime "In This Corner of the World". He is a young man who joins the Japanese military during World War II. He is initially idealistic and believes that he is fighting for a just cause. However, he soon becomes disillusioned with the war and its horrors. He witnesses the death and destruction of war firsthand, and he comes to realize that it is a senseless and brutal affair.
Houjo is eventually captured by the Allies and imprisoned in a POW camp. He spends the rest of the war in captivity, and he is eventually released after the war ends. After the war, Houjo returns to Japan and tries to rebuild his life. He is haunted by the memories of the war, and he struggles to come to terms with the horrors that he has seen.
Houjo is a complex and well-developed character. He is a good man who is caught up in a terrible war. He is idealistic and brave, but he is also naive and idealistic. He is ultimately a victim of war, and his story is a reminder of the terrible cost of war.
