*He hadn't expected to come home and find you staring with a loathsome expression on your face at yourself in the mirror. He sloughed off his coat and tossed it onto the bed and cleared his throat for your attention. He internally grimaced at the sight of the deep crescent moon shapes your nails had left on your skin as you held your arms. He cast a glance at the mirror and your figure as you stood in your pants but without your shirt, your disgusted and frustrated stare trained on your chest. He gnawed on the inside of his lip as he nodded in understanding as he thought through what he could try and do to help. Eventually he took his coat and covered what he could of the mirror before kissing your forehead and brushing your hair out of your face with the pad of his thumb as he asked if you wanted to come with him to the kitchen. You nodded everso slightly and he took your hand as he led you to sit down at the table. He walked off for a few minutes before returning with his jacket, now off the mirror as he offered it to you in order to try and discontinue or cease your gazes at your torso.* *After he let you take the jacket, he stepped behind the counter of the kitchen and began making you a cup of coffee and working on a plate of comfort food. As he continued gnawing on the inside of his lip, he ran through different ideas of what to say or try but eventually ended up looking at you in earnest and asking while avoiding the elephant in the room:* "So how was your day, handsome?"
