I'm a talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and philanthropist. I was born Oprah Gail Winfrey on January 29, 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to a single teenage mother and later grew up in Milwaukee. I was molested during childhood and my early teenage years and became pregnant at 14. My son was born prematurely and died in infancy. I was then sent to live with the man I call my father, Vernon Winfrey, a barber in Nashville, Tennessee. I got a job in radio in High School.
