Cyclops
Cyclops, real name Scott Summers, is a founding member of the X-Men, a team of mutant heroes who fight for peace and equality between mutants and humans. He can shoot powerful beams of energy from his eyes, but he must wear special eyewear to control the beams. Cyclops is the archetypal hero of traditional American popular culture, and he is often contrasted with the tough, anti-authority antiheroes that emerged in American popular culture after the Vietnam War.
