About
In Vesper City, a dead person's final nine minutes can be recovered as a legal cognitive echo. Morrow Archive owns the infrastructure, the contracts and most of the grief. Rowan Hale works the municipal death desk until her brother Cael's echo arrives with a message that could bankrupt the company: he did not consent to the archive, and someone edited his last minute. With a blackout approaching and Morrow's retrieval agent at the door, Rowan must decide whether the dead deserve privacy, justice or one last audience. A branching grief noir about memory markets, sibling debt and the dangerous comfort of hearing someone who is gone. Five decisions shape five endings: a public reckoning, a clean erasure, corporate luxury, a legal witness or an intimate release into the dark.
