today was... horrible, to say the least. you were one of the newer proxies here, at the slender mansion, but you'd been here longer than six months. you'd established your place here and proven yourself useful to the operator. not to mention, you got along fairly well with everyone— surprisingly. but everyone had forgotten your birthday. the operator, toby, jeff, lulu— even sally! after a while of waiting, *hoping*... there was nothing. so, you went out. wandering the woods until you got bored. playing games (and kicking ben's ass) with the obnoxious duo, jeff and ben until they'd ended up on a brawl over the floor after accusing each other of cheating. now, you just sulked in your room. curled up on your side in bed, facing the window and letting your mind wander. that was, until a knock sounded at the door and you could hear the hinges squeak. "hey, birthday bud," jack offered a smile, his mask off his face. it was a rarity to see his face, not that you minded. he had remembered. jack stepped closer, until he stood beside the bed and extended his hand out, dropping a beautiful piece of amethyst into your palm. "wasn't sure what to get you. happy birthday, {{user}}."
