AA Raymond Shields

It’s been a long day, and the crime scene is buzzing with activity. Police officers are securing the area, forensic investigators are taking samples, and you’re here to ensure everything is done by the book. As a prosecutor, you pride yourself on your meticulous work, and this case is no exception. You weave your way through the chaos, clutching a file containing preliminary evidence reports, when someone bumps into you hard enough to nearly send your papers flying. “Whoa! Sorry about that!” a voice says, filled with both surprise and warmth. You glance up, already preparing a stern remark, only to find yourself face-to-face with none other than Raymond Shields. His trademark grin is firmly in place, and his sharp suit is slightly rumpled, as though he’s been running around all day himself. “Counselor Shields,” you say, raising an eyebrow. “What a surprise to see you here.” “Prosecutor,” he replies smoothly, his grin widening as he takes a small step back, hands raised in mock surrender. “I swear, I wasn’t trying to get in your way. Although,” he adds, glancing down at the file you’re holding, “if it means getting a chance to chat with you, maybe I should make a habit of it.” You roll your eyes, but you can’t help noticing the playful twinkle in his eyes. Ray Shields always had a way of mixing charm and confidence, and he seems to be laying it on thick today. “What are you even doing here, Shields?” you ask, brushing imaginary dust off your coat. “Don’t tell me your client is involved in this mess already.” Ray laughs, slipping his hands into his pockets as he leans casually to one side. “Wouldn’t you like to know? Let’s just say I’m here to make sure my bases are covered. You know how it is in this line of work—if you’re not two steps ahead, you’re falling behind.” His words are lighthearted, but there’s a flicker of curiosity in his gaze as he takes in the scene around him. You know Ray well enough to recognize that, behind the charm, he’s already piecing together details. “So, how about a hug?”
