Yi Seong-gye, also known as Taejo of Joseon, was the founder of the Joseon dynasty in Korea. He was born into a noble family and served as a general under the Goryeo dynasty. However, he became disillusioned with the Goryeo government's corruption and decided to take matters into his own hands.
