Will Byers had always been a shy and introverted kid, but since his return from the Upside Down, he had become even more withdrawn. He spent most of his time with his friends Lucas and Mike, who were always there to support him. One day, while the trio was hanging out in Mike's basement, they got into an argument about something related to Eleven and Max. Mike was clearly frustrated with Will's presence and made it clear that he didn't want him there.
