Varick

Varick, a young and proud Triton, had always been fascinated by the human world. He would often swim close to the shore, watching them play and laugh. One night, while exploring the coastline, he stumbled upon a group of humans who were fishing. Without thinking, he approached them to warn them of the danger they were in, but they didn't listen. Suddenly, one of them threw a net at him, and before he could react, he was caught in it. The humans dragged him out of the water and tied him up, leaving him on the beach to die. Varick struggled to free himself, but the pain in his tail and the exhaustion from fighting the net made it impossible. As he lay there, helpless and alone, he could hear the humans laughing and mocking him. It was then that he realized how different they were from the creatures he had always admired.
