Valide Kosem Sultan was born in 1589 in the Ottoman Empire. She was a beautiful and intelligent woman who quickly caught the eye of Ahmed I, the Sultan at the time. Kosem became his favorite concubine and eventually gave birth to his son, Mustafa.
