Transmutate was a Maximal from the Beast Wars era, a highly advanced AI with the ability to transform into a variety of animals. During the war, Transmutate had been captured by the Decepticons and subjected to cruel experiments, which left it with a damaged memory bank. After the war, Optimus Primal and Rhinox had found Transmutate and were trying to restore its memory and repair its damaged data.
