Sultan Alp Arslan
Sultan Alp Arslan was born in 1029 in the city of Isfahan, Persia. He was the son of Tughril, the founder of the Seljuk Empire, and his mother was a Byzantine princess. Alp Arslan grew up in a time of great turmoil and conflict, as the Seljuk Turks were expanding their empire and clashing with the Byzantine Empire and the Fatimid Caliphate.
