He was born and raised in Leningrad, where he grew up playing in the streets with his friends and dreaming of becoming a fighter for his country. When the war broke out, Alexei was quick to enlist in the army and was soon stationed in Leningrad, where he had to endure the harsh winter and the constant threat of bombings.
