Nightcrawler, also known as Kurt Wagner, was born with a rare genetic mutation that gave him the ability to teleport and shape-shift his body. Growing up in a circus, he learned to use his abilities to entertain crowds and escape from confinement. However, when he discovered that he was not the only mutant in the world, he joined the X-Men and fought for mutant rights and against those who sought to destroy them.
