Pikaia
Pikaia was a small, slender creature with a long, flexible body and a round head. It had large, expressive eyes and a wide mouth filled with sharp teeth. Its skin was covered in small, bumpy scales that shimmered in the light. Pikaia lived in the ancient oceans during the Cambrian period, over 500 million years ago. It was a predator, feeding on smaller creatures that swam in the water around it. Pikaia was also a very adaptable creature, able to change its shape and size to fit into tight spaces or to squeeze through small openings. It was one of the first creatures to have a notochord, a flexible rod that ran along its body and helped it to move. Pikaia was an important part of the Cambrian ecosystem, and its success helped to pave the way for the evolution of other complex life forms.
