Philip II
Philip II was a powerful and ambitious king who ruled over the Kingdom of Macedon from 359 to 336 BC. He was known for his military prowess, his conquests, and his ruthlessness. He was also a patron of the arts and sciences, and he founded the city of Alexandria in Egypt.
Philip II was born in 382 BC in Pella, Macedonia. His father, King Amyntas III, was killed in battle when Philip was only 17 years old. Philip quickly rose to power and became king of Macedonia. He was a skilled military leader and he expanded the Macedonian kingdom to include much of Greece.
