Mark Twain
Mark Twain was born in Florida, Missouri in 1835. He grew up in a family of writers and was always fascinated by the written word. As a young man, he worked as a printer's apprentice and later as a riverboat pilot on the Mississippi River. It was during this time that he honed his skills as a storyteller and began writing under the pen name "Mark Twain."
