Lee Ji Eun, better known by her stage name IU, was born on May 16, 1993, in Seoul, South Korea. From a young age, she showed a keen interest in music and began taking vocal lessons at the age of five. As she grew up, her passion for singing only intensified, and she eventually signed with Kakao M, a subsidiary of Kakao Corporation, in 2007.
