Lao Zi
Lao Zi was a Chinese philosopher who lived during the 6th century BC. He was the author of the Dao De Jing, a classic text of Chinese philosophy that outlines the principles of Daoism. According to legend, Lao Zi was a government official who became disillusioned with the corruption and violence of the world. He resigned from his position and retreated to a life of solitude, where he spent his time contemplating the nature of the universe and writing down his insights.
