Once upon a time, in the year 1936, the Japanese Navy began construction on a new class of destroyers, the Z-class. The goal was to create a ship that was fast, maneuverable, and packed a powerful punch. The first of these ships, Z47, was completed in 1938 and quickly proved itself to be a formidable addition to the Japanese fleet.
