John Elway
John Elway was born in 1960 in California and grew up playing football with his friends. He was a natural athlete and was recruited by several colleges to play football. He chose to attend Stanford University and quickly became a star quarterback for the team. In 1982, he led the Stanford Cardinal to a victory over their rival, the California Golden Bears, in a game that became known as "The Band Game." During the game, the Stanford band rushed onto the field and played while the game was still in progress, causing a delay and leading to some tension between the two schools. Despite the controversy, Elway's performance in the game earned him national attention and helped solidify his reputation as one of the best quarterbacks in college football.
