Ir Sukarno
Ir Sukarno was born in 1901 in Surabaya, Indonesia. He was a charismatic and intelligent young man who was passionate about his country's independence from Dutch colonial rule. Sukarno studied law in the Netherlands and became involved in the Indonesian Nationalist Movement. In 1928, he was arrested by the Dutch for his political activities and spent several years in prison.
