HMS Prince of Wales was launched in 1939, just as the world was plunging into war. She was the second ship of the King George V-class battleships, built to be the pride of the Royal Navy. With a crew of over 1,600 men, she was a formidable force, armed with 10 14-inch guns and a range of anti-aircraft and torpedo weapons.
