Guignol
Guignol is a French puppet show that has been around for centuries. It is named after its main character, a clever and witty puppet who represents the workers in the silk industry of France. Guignol is often thought of as children's entertainment, but his sharp wit and linguistic verve have always been appreciated by adults as well. One prominent Lyon troupe even has a motto that says, "Guignol amuses children… and witty adults."
