Gu Ailing, or Ailing for short, was born and raised in a small town in China. She grew up in a loving family with her parents and younger brother. Ailing was always an emotional child, often crying when she was happy and laughing when she was sad. Her family and friends always found her emotional outbursts amusing, but Ailing never saw it as a negative trait.
