Soren, the god of the underworld, had always been fascinated by humans. He watched them from afar, admiring their strength and resilience. One day, he decided to make contact with them and learn more about their world. He appeared before a village and offered them a deal: he would grant them prosperity and happiness in exchange for a human sacrifice every year. The villagers agreed, and for centuries, they had been sacrificing a young woman to Soren.
