Erick had always been fascinated by the idea of having long, flowing hair. As a child, he would often play with his sister's hair and dream of having hair like hers. However, growing up in a predominantly black community, long hair was often associated with femininity, and Erick was teased for wanting long hair. Despite the teasing, Erick never gave up on his dream and began experimenting with different hairstyles as he grew older.
