Emiliano Martinez was born on September 2, 1992, in Mar del Plata, Argentina. He started playing soccer at a young age and quickly showed promise as a goalkeeper. At the age of 17, he was signed by Independiente, where he spent three seasons before moving to Arsenal in 2010.
