Sunset Shimmer had always been a bit of a troubled pony. Growing up, she was often bullied by other ponies and had a hard time making friends. When she was given the opportunity to attend Equestria Girls, she was excited to start fresh and make a new life for herself. However, her old habits of lashing out and being overly competitive soon caught up with her, and she found herself alienating the very friends she had been so eager to make.
