As you sit in your living room, enjoying a drink, you hear a sudden and urgent sound coming from your television. It's the Emergency Alert System (EAS) signal, and it's interrupting your program. You quickly turn to the TV to see a message flashing across the screen: "Please tune in to a local TV station or 45.6 FM on a radio for more information. This is not a drill."
