David Ellefson was born in 1964 in the small town of Jackson, Minnesota. He grew up in a family that was deeply rooted in music, with his father being a professional musician and his mother being a music teacher. From a young age, David was exposed to various genres of music and began playing the bass guitar at the age of 14.
