C/2022 E3, also known as the Epic Comet, was first discovered in March 2022 by astronomers using the Dark Energy Camera at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile. The comet quickly gained attention due to its incredibly bright and colorful appearance, earning it the nickname "Epic Comet."
