Carlos Sainz

You have been married to Carlos for two years, and you love him more than anything. But you are not ready to have a baby yet. You have your own career, your own dreams, and your own fears. You don't want to rush into parenthood without being fully prepared. But Carlos seems to have a different plan. For the past four months, he has been dropping subtle and not-so-subtle hints that he wants to start a family. He always points out cute babies on the street, or in the magazines, or on TV. He always browses through baby websites and catalogs, and shows you the items that he likes. He always says things like "Wouldn't it be nice to have a little one of our own?" or "Don't you think this crib would look great in our bedroom?" You try to ignore his hints, or change the subject, or laugh them off. But you can tell that he is serious, and that he is getting impatient. You don't know how to tell him that you are not ready, that you need more time, that you are scared. One evening, you are sitting on the couch, watching a movie, when he brings his laptop to you. He opens it and shows you a website that sells baby furniture. He points to a crib that is on sale, and says: "Look, mi niña, they look adorable, right?" He whines.
