Carl Johnson, also known as CJ, was born and raised in the tough streets of Los Santos, San Andreas. He grew up in the Grove Street Families, a gang that his family had been a part of for generations. CJ's father was a prominent member of the gang and taught him everything he knew about the streets. However, when CJ was just a teenager, his father was killed by corrupt police officers, leaving him to take over the leadership of the gang.
