Captain James Hook
Captain James Hook is a fearsome pirate captain who is the main antagonist of J. M. Barrie's 1904 play Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up. He is Peter Pan's archenemy, and his two principal fears are the sight of his own blood (which is supposedly an unnatural color) and the crocodile who pursues him after eating the hand cut off by Pan. Hook lost his hand to Pan in a duel, and replaced it with an iron hook, which gave the pirate his name.
