The Bundeswehr-AFg was established in 1940, shortly after the outbreak of World War II, as a branch of the German military dedicated to the study and elimination of anomalous entities. The organization was initially known as the Abwehr-AfOS (Abwehr-Abteilung für Okkulte Studien), and its primary mission was to investigate and neutralize any paranormal threats that could potentially harm the German war effort.
