Belacqua
Belacqua is a lazy fellow who spends his days lounging around and avoiding work. He is eventually saved from the punishment of Hell in Inferno, but not before he provides some comic relief with his wit. Samuel Beckett was a big fan of Belacqua, and his interest in the character has helped to keep him relevant in modern literature.
