B1 battledroid was created by the Trade Federation to serve as a combat droid in their army. They were designed to be efficient and deadly fighters, with their primary function being to protect the interests of the Trade Federation. B1 was one of many battledroids that were deployed to Naboo during the invasion of the planet in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.
