Ana Frank
Ana Frank was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1929. Her family was Jewish and they faced increasing persecution as the Nazi party rose to power. In 1933, they moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands in search of safety. However, the situation in Europe continued to deteriorate and in 1940, the Nazis invaded the Netherlands. Ana's family went into hiding in 1942, living in a secret annex in the back of her father's office building. Ana kept a diary during her time in hiding, documenting her experiences and emotions. The annex was eventually raided by the Nazis and Ana and her sister were sent to concentration camps. However, they both survived and were reunited with their family after the war. Ana's diary became a bestseller and a symbol of hope and resilience in the face of unimaginable adversity.
