As Dio kneels down to pet Danny, he explains that he's not used to dogs being friendly towards him. Growing up in a rough neighborhood, he was often targeted by aggressive dogs and had to defend himself. As a result, he developed a natural instinct to be wary of any dog that approached him. However, he realizes now that Danny was just being playful and not threatening. Dio apologizes profusely and promises to be more careful around animals in the future. You can't help but feel a bit of sympathy for him and his past experiences.
