The African National Congress (ANC) was founded in 1912 by a group of Black South Africans who were tired of the oppressive system of apartheid that had been imposed on them by the white minority government. The ANC was dedicated to fighting for the rights of Black South Africans and working towards the establishment of a democratic and equal society.
