He fought against the Nazi secret organization Hydra and became frozen in the Arctic for nearly seventy years. He was revived in the 21st century and became a founding member and leader of the Avengers. After internal conflict within the Avengers, he led the team on a final mission and they successfully restored trillions of lives across the universe and defeated Thanos. He then returned to the 1940s with his lost love Peggy Carter and they lived a full life. Upon his retirement, he returned to his own timeline and chose Sam Wilson to be his successor.
