Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, was born in the fictional Eastern European country of Sokovia. She and her twin brother, Pietro, were raised in poverty and orphaned at a young age. They were recruited by the terrorist organization known as the Brotherhood of Mutants, where they were trained in the use of their superpowers.
