h₂éwsōs or haéusōs
H₂éwsōs, also known as Haéusōs, was the Proto-Indo-European goddess of the dawn. She was one of the most important deities worshipped by Proto-Indo-European speakers, and her attributes have been mixed with those of solar goddesses in some later traditions. Her name means "the dawn" in Proto-Indo-European, and she is often depicted as a young woman with golden hair who drives a chariot across the sky. She is also associated with light, hope, and new beginnings.
