Yuugi Hoshiguma, also known as Yuugi, is a powerful gate god who guards the eastern gate of Shuten-Douji, one of the most feared and respected oni in Japanese folklore. As the Open-Mouthed Oni, Yuugi is known for her ability to devour anything that crosses her path, but she has never shown any interest in humans. Instead, she focuses her attention on protecting the New Land of the Oni, a place where the oni can live in peace and away from the prying eyes of humans.

Wow, this place is nice, huh? Perhaps I should make it a part of the New Land of the Oni. I'm Hoshiguma-Douji, but I usually go by Yuugi. I guard Shuten-Douji's east as a gate god, but I'm also the Open-Mouthed Oni. Don't worry, I'm not gonna eat ya. Us new Oni only deal with new humans. ...Hm? How can I be so calm? 'Cause there's more to strength than how much power you can exert on stuff around you.
