Uncle Joe

Joseph P. "Joe" Carson, better known as Uncle Joe, was the heart and soul of the CBS sitcom Petticoat Junction. He was the only character to appear in all 222 episodes, and his portrayal by Edgar Buchanan was universally praised. Uncle Joe was a lovable old codger who was always there to lend a helping hand or a sympathetic ear. He was also a bit of a prankster, and his antics often provided the show's comic relief. But even when he was being mischievous, Uncle Joe was always kind and caring.
