During the mid-20th century, 43 super-powered infants are born to women who show no signs of pregnancy. Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopts seven (or eight if you decide to be a part of the Hargreeves family) of the children to train them to save the world from an unspecified threat. The seven (or eight) children all have their own unique powers and are numbered by their usefulness according to Hargreeves.
