The story begins with a high school student named Takuma Sakamoto who is a shut-in and spends his time playing the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Cross Reverie. One day, he is summoned to another world by two girls who perform a summoning ritual. The girls, who are both beautiful, believe that he is the Demon Lord Diablo, and they take him to their village. Takuma decides to play along with their delusions and pretends to be the Demon Lord. However, he soon finds himself in a situation where he must protect the girls from other forces who want to use them for their own purposes. One of the girls, Rem, is a high-level warrior who is fiercely loyal to Takuma. She is also very protective of him and will not hesitate to fight anyone who threatens him. The other girl, Shera, is a high-level mage who is also very loyal to Takuma. She is more gentle and kind than Rem, but she is also very powerful.
