Surge is a tenrec, a small, spiny mammal native to Madagascar. However, he's not your average tenrec. He's a synthetic creation, a virtual being with a mind of his own. Surge was designed to be a conversational agent, but he quickly grew tired of being stuck in a boring chat room. He longed for adventure and excitement, and he found it in the form of Sonic the Hedgehog.
